FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
LITTLEWINE is your online destination for discovering the world of natural wine, getting personal with the people behind the bottle, exploring wine regions and learning about wine. You can also find out more about us here.
In our bottle shop, we offer an ever-evolving selection of sustainably made wines from some of the most inspiring winemakers in the world.
Our annual content membership called "Backstage Pass" allows you to discover the people behind the bottle using photography, videos, voice and text. Think of it as an online magazine that allows you to discover the most exciting natural winemakers from the comfort of your home for only £24 per year.
LITTLEWINE was co-founded by Daniela Pillhofer, a wine merchant, and Christina Rasmussen, a wine writer. Together, the two imagined a place where you could learn about wine, while virtually meeting the people whose wines you enjoy or are curious about. That place became reality in LITTLEWINE. Why not get to know us a bit better here?
We direct and produce our films in-house by bringing years of experience in content creation to the table and teaming up with the most talented creative professionals to share the story behind the bottle. As a young, bootstrapped startup we are currently on track to releasing one video per month, featuring some of the most inspiring winemakers of the natural wine world, including the likes of Claus Preisinger and Tom Lubbe of Matassa. Join us Backstage to not miss out on any of them!
At LITTLEWINE, we believe that the stories of winemakers should be about them, not us. As such, we do not show an author for our in-house written articles.
We are very proud to work with talented freelance writers and professionals from time to time, and want to highlight their talent. As such, you will occasionally see names that are not ours pop-up, and you can learn about these writers in their bio sections.
We taste hundreds of wine per month, and have the fortune of meeting many winemakers face-to-face. When we feel inspired by a winemaker's philosophies, we get a fire in our bellies to share their story. Then, if we're able to, we list their wines in our bottle shop so that you can experience their wines firsthand. That's what we're here for.

The short answer to this question is yes. We strongly feel that the way forward for the wine industry is to farm organically, biodynamically, or adhering to other natural farming methods such as regenerative agriculture. At the same time, we know that chaotic weather patterns can wreak havoc, and we trust that the winemakers we feature will always make the correct choice. We also understand that a farmer might have undertaken the road to organic conversion, and if that's the case - well, we want to support them. We're not here to be dogmatic, but inclusive.
We don't believe in scoring, and long prescriptive tasting notes send us to sleep. Instead, we want to tell you how wine makes us feel, while still educating you on all the complex ins and outs of wine. In our bottle shop, we're incredibly proud to offer you some rare cuvees, usually reserved for restaurants, that have never before been listed online. Unlike most wine online shops, we know every single wine and winemaker who we list. In most cases we have visited their vineyards and call them close friends on who we can rely to work in line with nature and their communities — key criteria that we would never compromise to stock wines for a certain price point or style.
The LITTLEWINE Backstage Pass unlocks all content and allows you to interact with the people behind the bottle in an unparalleled and narrative-driven way — think of it like going backstage at a concert, or buying a digital magazine that allows you to get to know some of the most inspiring winemakers of the natural wine world.

Our carbon footprint is very important to us. As such, we believe that once wine has been shipped to its initial destination, it shouldn't be shipped again. Bottles of wine are heavy, so this is not in the interest of the environment. With this mantra in mind, we unfortunately do not offer delivery to locations outside of the United Kingdom. #shoplocal
