Wine: a liquid from grapes that is created only once a year, almost entirely dependent on weather, from perennial plants that require constant attention and nurturing, from a process that takes months and sometimes many years.
We believe that wine is deeply and inherently special and although humankind can survive without wine, a world without wine wouldn't be the same and as such, it is our responsibility to guarantee its continued existence in the long-run.
To The Environment
We love Mother Nature. She allows us to make wine, and we think that's pretty cool. Just like Beyoncé's Drunk in Love, we're Drunk ... in Nature.
The grapevine is not easy to tend, and growing grapes is no mean feat. We understand that research takes time, and that working without or to reduce chemicals is costly, and we're here to support that. If drinking consciously means we need to spend a little more and so drink less, we'll drink less.
We believe in a wine world where vineyards are not just vineyards; where nature thrives and gives the vine its energy. We believe that the vine is intertwined with its ecosystem, and we champion biodiversity and regenerative agriculture.
We see wine as a way of giving back to nature and as a way of "paying it forward" to future generations.
All of our packaging materials are either 100% from recycled material or compostable, right down to our business cards which are made from recycled T-shirts, and our stickers which are made from biodegradable materials. Our stickers use acid-free ink and our cotton products are organically certified.
To You, The People
With supermarkets awash with £5 wine, it's easy to forget that wine is inherently special. We do not see wine as a commodity, and we do not believe in discounting wine or pushing prices down at the expense of farmers, quality or the environment.
The stories you'll find on LITTLEWINE aren't just the stories of producers, they are stories of friends - friends of nature, friends of you and me. We think their stories are worth hearing. Thanks to them, we are able to be the authors of their vineyards and bring their lives to your screen.
Their families, their homes; their villages or cities, and their cultures are important to us. We care about wine from a socio-economic perspective and strive to help to support the lives of growers, makers and the future generations.
To The Future
LITTLEWINE is a fledgling start-up. This is the very beginning of building a roof under which we cultivate and celebrate sustainable wine culture, and make knowledge and experience accessible to everyone.
We have hundreds of ideas for the future and how we can build a globally connected, locally established wine platform outside of simply the bottle; please bear with us as we grow up and turn these contemplations into realities.
