Alchemille Blanc 2018

£26.00

A Wine That

is all about lightness of touch — if Ludovico Einaudi's music were a wine, we're pretty sure it would be like this. Think fresh lemon juice, a dash of sea salt and a lovely subtle fresh dough quality, this is the sort of bottle that tastes of more!

Where and How?

This cuvée was made exclusively from Chardonnay, farmed organically on a small plot in Coteaux Bourguigons called La Grand Cote. The soil here is predominantly red marl.

In the cellar, the wine was aged for 20 months in an oak barrel. Gentle extraction and minimal sulfite use is preferred here, giving a delicate wine that is as genuine reflection of its home.

The Winemaker: Domaine Dame Jeanne

This is the new winemaking project from Jeanne Piollot, daughter of Dominique Moreau and Roland Piollot of Champagne Piollot and Marie Courtin.
She is tending vines in the most northerly part of Burgundy, which borders the part of Champagne she comes from, making not only sparkling wines but also beautiful still wines.
