Revision 2017 — Grüner Veltliner
A Wine That
behaves like 'a 68 year old smiling flâneur, who drinks Assam tea and loves pear tarts with whipped cream, wearing chequered tweed jacket, born and raised at the foot of the Wiener Reisenberg, who has seen it all and still has a lot left to do. A truly wonderful Veltliner that smells of tea, foliage, shiitake and lemon pickle, which decided to spend the last decades of its life as a humble table wine', according to Jutta and Marco.

Where and How?
As Jutta has chosen not to adhere to DAC rules and regulations, she can't put the name of the vineyard on the bottle due to wine politics. Regardless, this comes from a very special site - the Reisenberg. It is organically farmed 50+-year-old Grüner Veltliner, planted on slate and gneiss.
The wine fermented naturally, and was bottled unfined and unfiltered.
You might think that a graphic-designer-turned-winemaker would relish at the chance to design their own labels. Not Jutta; in her words,
“It was the hardest graphic design job I’ve ever had.”
She feels incredibly fortunate to be able to tend vineyards in Vienna; having arrived on the scene in 2004 it was still possible to persuade a winemaker to lease her some vineyards. These days, however, it is near-impossible as they are so in demand. Thus, she counts her lucky stars every day when she heads out to the vines with her dog in tow. She knows the soils and every vine inside out, tending them organically in accordance with Mother Nature’s own rhythms.
Translating these intimate relationships faithfully via the small medium of a square wine label was no mean feat.
