Where and How?
The indigenous Sicilian variety, Frappato, is Arianna's love. Grown organically in the south of the island in Vittoria.
The wine was fermented naturally with a 30-day maceration period, before being aged in large Slavonian oak barrels for 14 months. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.
The Winemaker: Arianna Occhipinti
Arianna Occhipinti is renowned for her compelling, heart-tugging pure wines that show Sicily like no other. Working to safeguard and to put the native varieties of Frappato and Grillo on the mainstage, she's already achieved more recognition that most dream of in a lifetime.
She may be determined, but she's also got the kindest soul. You only have to meet her growing pack of rescue dogs to realise that this Sicilian has a heart of gold.
