A Wine That

will make you lean back in your chair and sigh contentedly. This is everything we love about Chenin Blanc in one bottle: it's rich-yet-fresh and has all of those divine honey and dried oat flavours with a lick of salt. There's a reason that the Loire is home to so many young natural wine stars — and this bottle shows what's possible in this iconic region.

Chenin Blanc

Where and How?

This is old-vine Chenin Blanc from the heralded black schist soils of Anjou, in the Loire Valley, tended organically by Olivier Lejeune.

The Winemaker: Clos des Plantes

Olivier Lejeune travelled the world working in the gaming industry, before deciding that actually the world of farming and making wine — being a vigneron — was for him. Thanks to a stroke of luck (or is it destiny?) he was able to find his magical old vineyards thanks to a nudge from iconic biodynamic farmer-winemaker, Mark Angeli. With his vines, he is creating some of the most compelling wines the region has seen — the future is bright for this young man.
