Nebbiolo delle Langhe 2019
A Wine That
quite simply ticks all of our boxes, and a bottle that has earnt a permanent fixture in our wine rack. Do you find yourself craving Piemonte, but (like us) can't break the bank for mid-week Barolo? This is your answer — a cuvée sent from the wine gods. Think fresh strawberries, mint, white pepper, a dash of thyme and that mineral crunch we all crave. On the lighter side of the spectrum, this is also super versatile when it comes to food pairings.

Where and How?
This comes from organically farmed Nebbiolo in Le Coste di Monforte d'Alba, with a small percentage of grapes from Boscareto in Serralunga. The vines are 40 years old, grown at 350 metres above sea level, on sandy calcareous soils.
The grapes were destemmed, after which they macerated for between two to three weeks before being pressed. Aged for ten months in stainless steel tanks. Sulfites only added at bottling.
Ferdinando's vineyards are located on the southern fringe of the Barolo zone. As such, this estate benefits from the biodiversity of the Alta Langhe; the wilderness that lies beyond the dense planting of Nebbiolo vineyards.
Having decided in 2003 to eschew chemical viticulture, the vineyards have only been tended with sulphur and copper since, and only when absolutely necessary. All of these factors mean that biodiversity thrives in these vineyards.
