Syrah 'Ravin des Sieurs' 2020
A Wine That
is like smelling (and drinking) wild, herbal shrubs dotted on a sun-beaten rocky outcrop. This is unapologetically Syrah, complete with pepper, spice and comforting tannins. However, there's juicy lightness here too, making this dangerously drinkable. You have been warned.

Where and How?
This wine is made from Syrah grown organically on clay and limestone soils situated in the hot and mountainous Roussillon. The grapes were hand harvested and destemmed before a very short period of maceration on the skins, creating something in between a rosé and a light red. The wine was then pressed and fermented naturally in concrete vats, before then ageing in concrete vats for 6 months. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.
The Winemaker: Domaine Majas
Back in the early 1990s Alain and Agnès Carrère founded the Domaine Majas that today consists of 30 hectares. A decade later and with a lot of frustration with converntional farming they met a young man named Tom Lubbe who would later support them to change their approach in farming and winemaking. Today the Domaine is proud to be working organically with the intention to bottle true representations of the Côtes Catalanes with minimal intervention.
