Le Village 2014 — Champagne
A Wine That
is all about the nuanced side of Chardonnay. Rather than being lazer-beam sharp like some Chardonnay Champagnes, this is a little softer, a little more apricot-ty, but still with that hallmark mineral lick. A Champagne for comforting sofa vibes.

Where and How?
This cuvée comes from Chardonnay (planted in 1986) at the bottom of the hillside, on rich clay and limestone. Thomas does not cut the apex of the vine, and braids the canes together in order to have the energy of the plant focusing on the fruits instead of vegetative growth. This wine ferments naturally and is aged in barrels of 228l and 400l for nine months. No dosage, disgorged in May 2019.
The Winemaker: Thomas Perseval
This little 2.5 hectare grower Champagne gem has been passed down through the generations to Thomas.
Under his guiding hand, the vineyards have been organically certified since 2012, and the Champagnes seem to become more and more energetic with every new cuvée that is released. As Thomas says, "I really believe that human energy is transmitted to the wine."
These bottles exemplify Champagne, nature and the human hand in perfect harmony.
