A Wine That

gives you a glimpse into this talented young winemaker's work. This is all about the savoury side of white wine; think fresh croissant dough, oatmeal and a twist of lime, this is moreish and dangerously drinkable!

Where and How?

This is Chenin Blanc from the heralded black schist soils of Anjou, in the Loire Valley, tended organically by Olivier Lejeune.

The Winemaker: Clos des Plantes

Olivier Lejeune travelled the world working in the gaming industry, before deciding that actually the world of farming and making wine — being a vigneron — was for him. Thanks to a stroke of luck (or is it destiny?) he was able to find his magical old vineyards thanks to a nudge from iconic biodynamic farmer-winemaker, Mark Angeli. With his vines, he is creating some of the most compelling wines the region has seen — the future is bright for this young man.
